“Avoid these fashions that look dated” “10 things not to wear over the age of 30” how about I’m a goddamn adult now and my personal style that makes me happy is none of your business
And this goes along with the “I want to dress like a fairy princess but I also want to be a butch/goth/biker-” girl you can do both!! Hell, do both at the same time!!! We are living in the most accepting time in the world for fashion. I love wearing the clothes I wasn’t cool enough to wear in 2003. My favorite store specializes in 1950s vintage inspired. I’ve worn actual Victorian clothing out in public and I know a guy who seesaws his daily attire between 1940s and 1770s clothing just…because he can.
You only have one life. Don’t spend it trying to mold yourself into whatever you think the world expects of you. Embrace and enjoy your individuality.
As a trans mostly-man I am going to enter my brolita era
I love how Auguste haunts the narrative in a pretty traditional sense (and it is devastating) but Kastor also does this. The kind brother Damen knew doesn’t exist anymore, we witness his death right at the beginning of the book and then Damen drags his corpse to the end of the book. Kastor is as much of a haunting ghost for Damen as Auguste is for Laurent. Damen still hoping that his brother is in there and it’s not just his body with a stranger inside it. Two older brothers dearly loved, both dead from the start.
